You can clearly tell who did and didn’t watch Carmilla based on all the First Kill critiques. Oh the monsters have bad cgi? On Carmilla we didn’t even get to see the monsters. Oh the scenes are shot from weird angles? On Carmilla we got one angle and never questioned why everyone was conveniently standing on one side of the room. Oh the plot is rushed and bad? On Carmilla all of the plot was entirely off screen and you know what? We loved every second of it
first kill is so funny like cal told her mom she staked a vampire and then her mom's like "well did she turn to ash?" and cal's like "...no" so her mom's like "....well, then that wasn't a vampire" and that is so fucking funny to me. imagine your kid just stabbed some random girl at a party and left and you're just like "ugh whatever we'll discuss this in the morning"

first kill is my new favorite show because it had lines like “it was no match for the gods of olympus. so why would i be immune to the insanity of first love?” but also “did you eat…. my mother?” and that duality is camp
